The annotation by Nikita Shcherbakov to the latest book of the Institute of Law Enforcement at the European University in St. Petersburg "Russian judges: sociological research of the profession" was published

The research conducted by the authors of the book touches upon and describes in full detail arrays of tacit and informal  actions one should take  in order to build a career of  a judge, including the most careful analysis of the Russian judicial community functioning in its most diverse stratum. The book presents a broad vista starting from the earliest history of the establishment of a judge's profession in Russia,  evaluating the heritage of Soviet peoples' judges, and ending with a generalized portrait of modern Russian judges with all of their sex and age specificity, family succession and mobility.  The book investigate negative tendencies in  the sources of recruitment of judicial manpower.
